Nominate a Nurse Educator for the 2021 Nurse Educator of the Year Awards!

 

Nomination Deadline:  February 22, 2021 at 11:59 pm Mountain Time

How to nominate:

The Centennial Area Health Education Center is celebrating 30 years of our Nurse Educator’s Conference in the Rockies!  We want to pay tribute to the nursing profession and recognize extraordinary nurse educators throughout our community. The remarkable efforts of these individuals often go unnoticed and through our Nurse Educator of the Year recognition, we are able to honor those who make a difference in the lives of so many.

To nominate a nurse educator, please click the link above.  You may nominate yourself.  After the nomination is submitted, your nominee will receive a congratulatory email where they can accept your nomination and take the next steps by filling out more details. The nominee must complete the application form to be reviewed for finalist consideration. A Selection Committee will carefully review all applications, which will be blinded for anonymity. Finalists will be announced prior to the live conference in Copper at a date to be determined based on public health concerns. All nominees are invited to attend to help us celebrate our nurse educators if possible.

In preparation for your nomination:

  1. Determine which category of practice best identifies the nominee:

    • Category 1: Nurse Educators in Higher Education

    • Category 2:  Nurse Educators in Clinical Practice

    • Category 3: Nurse Educator Students enrolled in a masters or doctoral level program with a focus on nurse education or who have completed significant project work in this area

    • Category 4:  Emerging Leader in Nurse Education 

 

2. ​Identify in which area of recognition your nominee has shown exemplary characteristics:

 

  • Extraordinary Leadership – demonstrated above and beyond leadership in nursing education

  • Innovation in Nursing Education – demonstrating creativity in nursing education that benefits students and practitioners

  • Commitment to NEC in the Rockies Conference – how many years of attendance at the annual NEC Conference

Prepare to  answer 6 to 7 questions regarding your nominee and the category/area of recognition:

  • Name of your nominee

  • Contact information (email and phone number)

  • Credentials

  • Specific examples of how the nominee has exemplified the standards of a nurse educator in the area of recognition

    1. Significant contributions

    2. Community interaction

    3. Examples of work product or work creation

Prepare a letter of support to explain why you are nominating someone.  These letters of support should address how the nominee has met the definitions in Section 2.
