The Nurse Educator Conference was established in 1989 by the Centennial Area Health Education Center as an event where Nursing professors could learn about the more practical applications of teaching.  University of Northern Colorado and Front Range Community College were at the forefront in assisting the office in developing this conference that can provide nurse educators with the latest tools to teach their students.  Not only has this event come a long ways from attendees sleeping on bunk bed at the YMCA camp in Estes Park, but the latest and greatest tools have as well.  This conference is a great resource for many of the educators who return every year!

2020 is our 30th year!  The theme of the 30th annual Conference is
Pearls of Wisdom for Academic Practice:
30 Years and Beyond
NEC in the Rockies provides a unique opportunity to review the historical relevance of nursing education, to understand and appreciate it as we head into a dynamic future.  The Nurse Educator’s Conference in the Rockies will highlight some of the challenges and opportunities for using our history to better understand our present and create a preferred future.

Nurse Educators are constantly being bombarded with new information, technologies and techniques on how to provide content(instruction) to students.  It becomes a daily challenge to decipher what is essential for student learning and how best to facilitate it. Even in the seemingly less-complex world of yesteryear, precious pearls for today’s nurse educators can be gleaned.  Skill building sessions, poster, panels presentation and lectures will be presented in a very interactive, hands-on manner.  You will leave this conference full of ideas to share and implement within your own academic environments!

Where better than beautiful Colorado to immerse yourself in the past, present and future of nursing education?  You will hear from experts working with technology in education and experienced teachers who will share their ideas and strategies for meeting students’ needs.  You will be inspired to explore innovative ideas as you share networking time with your colleagues.  There is something for everyone on the Vail mountain top.  Come and join us.
