We are thrilled to announce the keynote speakers for our 2021 conference!
Shannon Perry (left), RN, PhD, FAAN, began her career in clinical nursing in medical- surgical nursing and then premature infant care. In that position she initiated helicopter transport of premature infants and is the first person to transport a premature infant in a helicopter in the United States. After furthering her education, she has been a nurse educator and nursing school director for over 25 years. She has taught in LPN, ADN, BSN, and MSN programs. Dr. Perry was an active member of the American Nurses
Association, the National League for Nursing in which she was a governor, the NLNAC, AWHONN, Sigma Theta Tau, International, and the American Association for the History of Nursing. She is co-author of two best-selling women’s health, maternity, and pediatric nursing texts. Dr. Perry has published numerous articles on clinical nursing topics, the nurse as an expert witness, and legal aspects of nursing. She has given numerous presentations in national and international venues. Dr. Perry developed and taught international nursing courses in several countries. She has participated in several medical missions and travels extensively for business and pleasure.
Kelley Johnson (right) is a Registered Nurse, nursing advocate, public speaker, and the most recent former Miss California USA. Previously, she represented the Miss Colorado Organization across the nation as Miss Colorado 2015. Kelley is remembered for her nursing monologue performance in 2015 that led to the famous "Doctor's Stethoscope" comment on the television show The View and the #NursesUnite campaign ignited across America. Kelley graduated Summa Cum Laude from Nursing School at Grand View University, where she was also Valedictorian. In May, Kelley graduated as a Family Nurse Practitioner (APRN) with her Master's of Science in Nursing. The past three years for Nurse Kelley have included appearances on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, Dr. Oz, The Doctors, E News, Inside Edition, and various other television, radio, and over 80 speaking engagements across our country where Kelley has consistently represented and advocated for the profession of nursing on a national level. Currently, Kelley lives and works out of Denver as the Chief Nurse Advocate for Wanderly, a travel nursing technology company. Kelley is also the National Spokeswoman and Scrub Ambassador for Careismatic Brands, and continues to host and emcee television shows and pageants across America.
